So, I was invited to Amara Hotel for their media tasting a few days ago to try out their upcoming Chinese New Year (CNY) menu. The mouth watering dishes left me feeling full and satisfied.
What is CNY without Yu Sheng? This year we welcome the Year of the Pig.
Amara Hotel's Prosperity Eight Treasures Yu Sheng is presented in a cute Pig head.
Adding on to the Yu-sheng are Amara's special housemade spicy Sze Chuan dressing, premium ingredients such as abalone slices, fresh salmon, jellyfish, ikura (salmon caviar), tobiko (flying fish roe) and fried fish skin and finely shredded vegetables.

Braised Pumpkin Soup with Superior Fish Maw
Yumz! this soup thickness is just right and I super love the smooth taste. The fish maw really blends well with the soup.
Soy Baked Sea Perch with Spinach in Bonito Sauce
My favourite dish of the night is the fish! It tastes so much like cod fish, heard from chef that its the sister fish.
Braised Pork ribs in Black Beer
Didn't taste much of the beer taste but what a unique way to cook with pork ribs!
Another favourite! Each piece is thinly sliced, superb skilled chef.
Fragrant Rice with Chinese Sausage and Mushroom
Indeed very fragrant! Strong aroma with every bite.
Yummy spread for the sweet tooth in me. Ok, I controlled myself. lol.
Can you tell this ingot is a cake? Inside is a fruit cake!
