Our stay at Leofoo Resort Guanshi in Taiwan December 19 2019, 0 Comments

We heard so much wonderful sharings from friends & family and decided to book a stay during our recent Taiwan vacation. 

Checked-in time was at 15:00 hrs but thankful our room was ready at about 14:00hrs when we arrived. We had a 2D1N stay from 3 Dec - 4 Dec. At the counter, the lady asked if we brought our own toothbrush & slippers. I was puzzled, and she explained that this is a eco-friendly resort hence if you do not need the items, they will reward you with NT$50 voucher per pax. This voucher can be use for paid activities in the resort. I am happy with the initiative & got my vouchers for 5 pax, thats extra NT250 to spend :) 

The rooms are house on 2 sides - Zebra cottage & Giraffe cottage. I choose the Giraffe cottage as I wanted to see the animals outside my balcony. The Zebra side couldn’t really see the animals. Good choice!⁣

We had a double storey room to fit 5 of us. 2 individual toilets & 2 showers made it so convenient.

Phew, the room has no smell but I could hear the flamingos chatting at night! So funny 😆 ⁣

The whole resort is decorated with animals, safari themed.

Other than the animals as the main highlight, the resort also has other DIY craft activities in-house for children to enjoy. It is house in another building which is 5 mins walk away. Open from 9am - 9pm, you can walk in anytime to reserve your spot. 

Sophie painted a Maraca, which is a hand instrument. It cost NT399/person but we offset with our NT250 vouchers we receive earlier. 

There were only a few choices for food in the resort, hence we settled for the international buffet.



Oh, they love the staircase, because its like a 2 story house.

 The room came with a pack of cute cookies which was my night snack.

DAY 2 (AM): 

I woke up early to "say hello" to the animals outside our hotel. I was hoping to see the giraffe pop its head near our balcony as shown on the website but nope, it did not happen. I was disappointed that I could not spot any giraffe and even called the front desk to ask where is the giraffe! hahhaa. Due to the cold weather, the giraffe was hiding inside & will be release at a later time.

After breakfast, we made our way to the Scenic Lookout  to listen to 'Introduction to Animals in the Resort' sharing

The other highlight of the resort stay were the close animal experience activities.

Some were paid, some were free. I had my chance to hold a parrot! (It’s free)

Glad we discovered the other side of the resort where other animals were housed. Say hello to Giraffe, Zebra, Goat, Lemur, etc. The siblings were so excited for these encounters 😉 No crowd so we happily enjoyed the animals all to ourselves. 😍⁣

Our Visit to Legoland SEA Life September 01 2019, 1 Comment

LEGOLAND SEA LIFE

Legoland Malaysia opened their Sea Life Aquarium earlier this year :) We were excited with this new addition to the Lego Family in Malaysia and cant wait to check it out. 11 theme zones!

We spent close to 2 hrs there. Compared to Singapore’s Sea Aquarium, this is much smaller but we love the pop up Lego characters which gave the aquarium the Lego feel :) Also, there aren't many big fishes inside. You can try spotting the famous Black Tip Reef Shark and others. 

BUT there are still things to excite the kids! The little interactive displays, story telling and interactive drawing. Kids can colour their own fish and watch it come to 'live' after colouring and sending it off to sea.

Nails Experience at D’Chloe Beauty Studio August 05 2019, 0 Comments

It’s been awhile since I pamper my nails. Self care is so important. When you look good, you feel good too. Having nicely manicured nails sure liven up my mood :) 

I tried the 3D Gel nail manicure service at D'Chloe Beauty Studio today. When I walked in, the lady boss, Chloe made me feel very welcome. The whole place is so bright and exudes a happy & relaxing feeling. 😁

Individual Tables for Manicure

The staff started off by doing the usual manicure (filing, cutting cuticles, shaping, cleaning) followed by applying the gel polish. You can choose from the available designs or show them a photo to replicate. Gel Manicure is very popular now as it can last up to 1 month! No need to worry about your pretty nails from color fading and peeling off while washing dishes and doing house chores.

Curing under the LED light is needed for Gel manicure 

This helps to strengthen the manicure quality and makes the crystals/colour stay on well.

I was spoilt for choice and didnt know which colour to choose, the nail technician suggested something simple and easy to match. 

Now for the next step - adding details.

The nail technician is very gentle and polite. She kept checking on me to see if I am comfortable throughout the process. Although my nail bed is rather small, she managed to apply the tiny details on my nail. Kudos to her skills!

           Ta-dah! The end result is a perfectly drawn and nice manicured nails :)

So sweet! Love how the colour and tiny flower details blend together, creating a feminine style that's suitable for most ladies. This looks like an event ready nail!

OJOY Smart Watch is a Joy to have!

Oh what a Joy it is to own a OJOY Smartwatch :) Technology is so advance now that the watch are getting smarter. 

2 months ago, Sophie received a OJoy watch from the watch company - OJoy. She had wanted a smart watch before but we didnt allow it for fear of playing/ losing it. She also holds a mobile phone so why need a smart watch? It serves the same purpose - to be able to call. My thoughts after using it for 2 weeks have changed. It is actually a very useful watch!

Prior to owning it, Sophie has an old iPhone for communication purpose. At times, I need to fetch her home from school or enrichment classes. BUT, loosing your iPhone can be a little scary too! Sophie gave us a scare when she left her little bag (inside contains the iPhone) at the Indoor Stadium once! Fortunately, her phone was found the next day when I went back to the stadium to do a search.

A Unicorn theme Science Party for my 9 year old. March 25 2019, 0 Comments

12.12.2018 - the day my firstborn, Sophie turns 9 :) 

What a bittersweet feeling which means I have been a mother for 9 years! *Hooray* to myself! I survived Motherhood.

Certainly their preference for parties and celebration changes as the years go by. But with new classmates and friends, I couldn't say "No". In my heart, I wanted a party for her too :) 

So what theme? UNICORN craze is in! Ok, she likes Unicorn now. That's it, theme settled and onwards with the party planning.

For 9 year old kids, I consider them the not too young and not too old kids. Choosing a party activity is quite difficult as I do not wish to repeat what I have done for her and also want it to be different from her school friends. I mean its nothing new if the classmates were to experience the activity before, right? I had magician and indoor playground previously for her. 

I was doing research online for party activities. Many came up but only ONE caught my eye - A Science Experiment Party!

Hey, these 9 year olds have started learning Science this year, so apt to bring learning outside the classroom and in a party setting!

I went ahead to engage Newton Show for the party because they have many interesting hands-on experiments. I prefer kids to be more active rather than just sit and watch.

Instead of an e-card which I usually send out, we went ahead with Revelgram's cards. Sophie self written the personalised cards for her classmates. See that grin? :) The cards were given out 3 weeks prior to the party.

It’s a blast! 1 hr of FUN to keep the girls (& adults) entertained. Finally the big day for my girl, Sophie's birthday is here. We celebrated it on 6 Dec 2014 with her favourite theme - Frozen!! It is the most popular theme right now and she has been asking me since March'14 when is her birthday and why is her birthday so long? Sorry my little girl.....you are born on 12 Dec. Whenever she see mummy's customer came over to rent the Elsa costume for their girl's party, she will ask me the same question over and over again - "Why is my birthday so long?" She is so cute, but I can only tell her I'm sorry you are born in Dec, you cant choose when you want to be born. I asked her to be patient and finally its Dec! In Nov, when mummy started planning the party and asked her where does she want the party to be held. She said her favorite playground - Cool de Sac. Its located at Suntec City with a big play area for craft activities and play. They have 3 party rooms and we took the 2nd biggest room. Max capacity is 30 kids and we had 20 kids on that day. I find the room a little cramp as not all the adults are able to fit inside the room and watch the kids play games. Adults would have to sit on the floor if they would like to watch them play. Else, they would sit outside at the private area cordoned off for them to eat and chat. Most of her friends invited were from her childcare so Sophie was very excited when they arrived at the party.

So happy to be featured on Straits Times, Saturday Times. There's a short write-up on my little business. Many of my friends and colleagues started messaging me on watsapp/SMS to ask if that was me and also to congratulate me. :) Very touched! My mum also had friends calling her to check if it was her daughter on newspaper. Yes, it is.....

I thank God for this feature as it brings me more biz. People search for my name and found me on Facebook and Google. Straits Times is very effective! Dispite not mentioning my online shop name, people are still quite hardworking to use Google. There's one customer who search me on google and called me on the very Saturday. . He needed a snow white costume for his daughter's birthday party and when I told him that Yes I have, he was so happy! I'm glad that I managed to solve his problem :)

Hello! Welcome to my 1st blog post! I'm very happy that I have finally got my hands on creating a website for my online shop rather than just a page in Facebook. I was thinking hard for the past few months if I should spend the $ on a website or not? After all, it is just a small business. But, I'm glad I did. I want everyone who is a parent to know about My Mini-Me. Please help me spread the word around, ok? Thanks in advance.

I love dressing my kids up hence decided to do something related to fashion and looking cute and pretty. Hence My Mini-Me is born. My Mini-Me specializes in Children's Costume rental and affordable children's products.
